The BACK Story
Hi, I’m Adelle — a Polestar Pilates Certified Comprehensive Pilates Instructor (NCPT), founder of ScolioSis, and I’ve lived with scoliosis for 15+ years. I have a 40 L and 35 T curve, I was braced for 4 years, offered surgery as a teen, constantly trying to find ways to find peace with my back pain and discovering Pilates changed everything.
I know firsthand the challenges — the discomfort, the frustration, the anxiety of living with scoliosis and the constant search for ways to feel at home in your body again, both physically and emotionally. What made it even harder was the lack of clear guidance from healthcare professionals. When I first got diagnosed at 11, I was told to “wait and see,” offered little support beyond monitoring X-rays, and my family and I were left to figure things out on our own.
When I was debating spinal surgery, I remember wishing there was a community of people who truly understood — a place to ask questions, share experiences, and feel supported rather than scared and isolated. That’s the biggest reason I started ScolioSis (aka Scoliosis Sisters) — I wanted to create the space, a community, I desperately needed back then.
Pilates gave me the tools to build strength, reduce pain, move with confidence, and even lessen my curve and grow taller! My passion is to share those same tools with you and create a community— so you don’t feel alone. ScolioSis is a community to help you feel stronger, freer, and more empowered in your body.
